KIPP recognizes that education does not end when students receive their college acceptance letter. KIPP Through College supports all of its middle and high school alumni as they matriculate and enroll in colleges and universities across the country, promoting persistence and achievement all the way through to college graduation. There are 1,800 KIPP alumni currently in college, with the number to expand to 10,000 nationally by 2015.
Alumni advisors act as mentors for individual students, work with families annually to unpack and complete the financial aid process, and make sure students are prepared to launch their college careers. Advisors track academic progress, connect students to services on and off campus, and help alumni stay linked to their KIPP family through outreach, events and the network of KIPP schools that span the country.
