Admission to a KIPP School

KIPP schools are tuition-free, open-enrollment public schools. Students are accepted regardless of background or academic record on a first-come, first-served basis. If more students apply than spaces are available, students are admitted by lottery.

Preference will be given to students who reside in the attendance boundaries of the school district in which the school is located (Alum Rock Union Elementary, East Side Union High School District, Oakland Unified, San Francisco Unified, and San Lorenzo Unified).

• Requiring parents, teachers, and students to all sign a Commitment to Excellence form that sets clear expectations

• Holding students accountable for behavior as well as academic success
