KIPP Summit Academy
Various positions available for 2010 – 2011
KIPP Summit Academy (KSA) is a free public middle school founded for historically under-served students and families in and around San Lorenzo, CA. We serve students in grades 5 through 8. We define ourselves by our commitment to learning and the high academic and behavioral standards we hold for every member of our learning community. We have built a “team and family” centered culture based on clear, school-wide expectations for student behavior and a commitment to embodying four core values: responsibility, teamwork, curiosity, and integrity. KSA is especially interested in reaching historically under-served students who are struggling to reach their potential. At KIPP Summit Academy, students, families, and staff work together to prepare every child for college. Through hard work, high expectations, mutual respect, and discipline, we all realize our highest potential and become agents of social change.

KIPP King Collegiate
Various positions available for 2010 – 2011
In the fall of 2007, KIPP King Collegiate opened its doors to 95 freshman in San Lorenzo. Our school community is very close knit, and will grow with roughly 100 students per year until we serve 400 in 2010-2011. One of the great hallmarks of King is the incredible skill and dedication of the staff and our whole school engagement (students and staff alike) on becoming better tomorrow than we are today. At King, great teachers are challenged and supported in the process of growing their craft.
We are a high-performing college-prep charter high school serving a mixed community. We have students commuting from throughout the East Bay with a primary focus on the low income communities of Oakland and San Lorenzo. We have a formalized professional learning community that actually works and is teacher driven, a world class writing program based on the Toulmin model of argumentative writing, orchestra, art, and several athletics classes that range from team sports to yoga and martial arts. Above all, we expect 100% of our students to gain acceptance, be prepared to succeed, and graduate from college.
